The Devil's Hanky is still one of the finest props for the vanish or production of a small article as the handkerchief is a common object that everyone is familiar with hence does not invite suspicion. This is a very funny gag to use whenever you have a volunteer to help you. You pretend to notice that his hands are dirty so you use a clean, white towel to wipe them. After a bit of by-play, you open the towel out again and it is seen to be smeared all over with dirty black hand prints! Funny, funny, funny!

Here is the classic handkerchief for substituting a coin, a ring, a key, a banknote or a billet for its subsequent vanish later on. With this handkerchief, you can substitute a coin, a ring, a key or other small objects for a dummy and the spectator can hold the dummy in his hands right until the last second when you can flip the hanky away and the object will vanish without a trace!
